Creative Academies Network is a multi-layered organisation that supports the development of children & young people to reach their full potential through Cultural Education, Creative Practice & Civic Leadership as a catalyst for cultural, social and economic change.

We are seeking to appoint an energetic and motivating individual that has the passion for Volunteering, Social Action and Leadership in Young People. You will have an important role in our team to ensure that we co-design, co-develop, co-deliver and co-disseminate creative projects for children and young people in the Black Country.

Youth Ambassador (Youth Management Board)
Creative Academies Network (CAN) has an exciting opportunity for up to twelve creative, passionate and dedicated 16 – 26 year olds to form its Youth Management Board (YMB). These voluntary positions will help steer the direction of CAN and play an integral role in ensuring CAN continues to engage with young people from across Sandwell, Wolverhampton, Walsall and Dudley (Black Country).
Successful applicants will commit to a 12-month position on the YMB and attend at least 10 meetings per year, as well as participate in training and other engagement activities to support your own personal development that will feed into the responsibilities of the YMB. In addition you may select to sit on our specific project steering committees.
Acting as ambassadors for CAN, the YMB will be invited to get involved and support CAN to ensure that young people are central to our future. In addition, it is essential that you can demonstrate a clear commitment to the development of young people and local communities across the Black Country. The successful young person must either currently live, work or learn in Sandwell, Wolverhampton, Walsall or Dudley. Have enthusiasm for one or more of the following:
During the 12-month period all Youth Management Board Members will have a series of opportunities made available in order to help develop leadership potential, knowledge of sector and business management. As this is a development role, we are seeking varied young people at different stages of their journey/career, but loads of energy and enthusiasm is a requirement. Due to the nature of the YMB, evening and weekend attendance/work may be required.
